Detachable joining of thin materials with Clamex S-20
Thin material thicknesses are becoming increasingly important in furniture design. Lamello now offers cabinet makers even more flexibility in production and assembly. Now, with the Clamex S-20, detachable joints are also possible in materials from 8mm thickness. Thanks to a groove width of 4mm, the installation of the Clamex S-20 can be carried out with any commercially available biscuit joiner.
How it works
  • Position stop square and set to half material thickness.

  • Adjust to setting 20 and cut the goove in the edge of the 8mm shelf.

  • Drill a 6mm access opening in the shelf using the drill and alignment jig.

  • Align the machine with the cut the goove in the edge of the surface.

  • Fit connector onto drilling and alignment jig and slide into groove.

  • Use light hammer taps to align the connector so that it is parallel to the surface.

  • Then secure the connector halves with the screws provided. In the case of brittle materials, pre-drill the screws with 2mm

  • Assemble components and connect them with the Allen key.
