Carpentry Derrer AG, Switzerland
The carpentry company, has been relying on the new Cabineo cabinet connectors from Lamello since May 2017. Company representatives were visiting a trade fair when they discovered the innovative CNC connectors with clean surface machining. Intrigued by the free product samples provided, the company decision-makers quickly moved ahead with testing Cabineo. "A new procurement in the CNC area means that we have tried out and compared many connectors," explains Andreas Derrer. "Processing for the Cabineo is extraordinarily simple, and allows us to make significant time savings throughout the production process." The company uses Cabineo 12 for corner connections, and Cabineo 8 for dividing panels and thinner materials. Cabinets are processed with the following method at Schreinerei Derrer AG: The Biesse Rover A CNC machine adds the groove for the connector, to cut and formatted workpieces. This requires a 12 mm tool. The same machine drills the 5 mm hole for the counterpiece at this stage. After the edges are glued, the Cabineo can be tapped in easily and very quickly. The bench carpenter has fitted a cabinet in just a few minutes. Project manager Corrado Tona confirms that cabinet assembly is significantly easier and quicker using Cabineo, compared to cam connectors. He went on to say: "The fitter simply puts together the furniture parts using the pressed-in Cabineos, and tightens the screws. He doesn’t even need additional wooden dowels." Talking to Andreas Derrer, it’s clear that the company is keen to use new and innovative solutions that prove themselves in practice. "In Cabineo we have found the perfect fitting for cabinet construction – a single-piece connector with high tensile force."
