Product description

The original wooden biscuit from Lamello is the tried-and-tested connection solution from the inventor of the system. Since its invention in 1955, the wooden biscuit, also known as a jointing biscuit, has been used millions of times to connect wooden workpieces. The success of the wooden biscuit is due to its easy, fast application, strong, high-quality joint, high longitudinal tolerance and minimal material weakening, which is important for panels. The original wooden biscuit guarantees quality in the form of dimensional stability, optimal glue distribution, robustness and high fracture resistance. The native, sustainably forested beech wood is delivered from the area around the Bubendorf production site, and is carefully sorted and processed. During being stamped, the thickness of the wooden biscuits is checked several times per hour to ensure the accuracy of fit. This accuracy of fit pays off in the application as the wooden biscuits easily fit into a 4 mm groove but do not fall out when the workpiece is turned over for assembly. The slightly raised guide rails on the jointing biscuit reduce the resistance when inserting and holding the joining element in the groove. The remaining surface serves as a more compressed gluing surface on which the adhesive can be distributed. As the glue dries, the wooden biscuit swells more in the glued area, making the joint even stronger. The diagonal grain also creates a very high break resistance. The smooth, rounded edges make it easy to insert and improve handling when working.

Applications:

  • Precisely fitting wood joints at all angles for carpentry work
  • Ideal connector for panels, as the material is weakened less than with a dowel
  • Milling for connector sizes 0, 10 and 20 with the Top21 or Classic X biscuit joiner with 4 mm groove cutter
  • Milling for connector size H9 with the Top21 or Classic X biscuit joiner with a 3 mm groove cutter
  • Butt joints from a material thickness of 8 mm (H9 wooden biscuit)
  • Mitre connections from a material thickness of 8 mm (H9 wooden biscuit)
