Product description

The Clamex S-18 is a detachable connector for the Lamello system and is screwed into an 8 mm wide groove. Like a cam connecting fitting, the Clamex S-18 is powerfully connected and released via a lever thanks to the minimalist 6 mm opening. The Clamex S-18 stands for perfect aesthetics due to the small opening of only 6 mm in diameter and enables joints to be almost completely concealed. It does not require glue, enables aesthetic joints at all angles and is ideal for fixed or detachable joints. The Clamex S-18 requires an 8 mm wide groove, which is milled to a depth of 15 mm and can be used with any Lamello biscuit joiner. With the 8 mm wide Clamex groove cutter, this is possible in one milling process. If the standard cutter (4 mm) is used, two millings are required, with the second milling offset by 4 mm with a spacer. A drill jig is used to drill access holes at all angles ranging from 22.5°–180°. The detachable connector is then inserted into the workpieces and fastened with two standard screws. Finally, the two workpieces are connected with a hex key. Waiting times for the glue to dry are thus completely eliminated and an assembled workpiece can be further processed straight away or made available for shipping.

  • In furniture construction for high-quality furniture with mitre connections or unusual angles, wine racks or bookshelves
  • Butt joints from a material thickness of 19 mm
  • Mitre connections from a material thickness of 18 mm
