The Divario P-18 is a detachable furniture connector for slide insertion. The groove is milled with a Zeta P2 biscuit joiner or a CNC machining centre and the connector is anchored in the workpiece in seconds using the positive-locking P-System groove. The Divario P-18 is designed so that it clamps the workpieces together during insertion and thus ensures perfectly tight joints. The build-up of pressure itself only occurs at specific points and not over the entire insertion length, which facilitates insertion. Since no lever or cam needs to be used, assembly is very efficient and the connector is invisible. If a piece of furniture or a shelf unit is manufactured with several fixed shelves or separating walls, the Divario P-18 offers the option of connecting the outer carcass first. The interior, i.e.fixed shelves or dividing panels, are then inserted piece by piece. This means that a bookcase can be transported in individual parts or simply as a simple carcass, saving space and weight. The shelves are simply inserted on site. The press-fit joint between the components allows the joint to take on high tensile forces. For example, a vertical centre bar can firmly connect the underside of a hanging shelf and bear loads. A groove is milled in the shelf at the front so that the workpiece can be installed via the protruding connector half at the side. The small groove on the rear side of the shelf can be unsightly when creating a shelf that is visible from both sides. For this purpose, the longitudinal groove is offset on both sides so that the joint is completely concealed from all sides. In this application, the shelf is not inserted afterwards, but is inserted and moved during the assembly of the shelf until it is clamped.
